Osprey

I get such a thrill when I see an osprey perusing the ocean for food and even more of a thrill when I see a head-first dive into the surf sometimes with success, sometimes only to return from the water with empty talons.

What is amazing to me is the way the osprey shakes and shimmies to shake the water from their feathers all the while managing to hold on to their catch. The video below unfortunately is of very bad quality. You have to look closely to even see the bird and I turned the audio volume way down because the wind was so loud it was just plain annoying.

You may not be able to enjoy the video as much as I enjoyed seeing the osprey hunt, but maybe you can take pleasure in my joy at being able to witness such a sight.
