Barefooting

I was feeling kind of blue because I hadn't been to the beach in about 3 days and even though I had gobs of things to do today I just HAD to go to the beach or go crazy. It was beautiful, calm and peaceful. Just what I needed.
Remembering a conversation with friend about how going barefooted outside connects you more closely with Mother Earth, I decided to shun the shoes and do some barefooting. The water was a chilly 60 something and bracing to say the least. Scream-producing at first, to be more honest.
The day was complete after I found a sand dollar. Joy redux!

Changes

I'm going to catch up on a couple of days being neglectful of this blog.
Two days ago it was beautifully clear and the mighty Atlantic Ocean was anything but mighty.
Looked more like a farm pond except for the large shrimpers plying their trade off shore. But it was beautiful and sunny and a good day for a walk.
However like the rest of life, the ocean, fortunately, always brings changes — helps keep things interesting.
Today the Atlantic was more ocean-like. Rolling waves and the unique sound of surf as it hits the sand brought a smile to my face. The blue skies were perfect and the sun dazzling.
Again... a good day for a walk. Wish you could join me.

Transported

It was beautiful, beautiful, beautiful today at the beach as witnessed by these gulls I called three-by-the-sea with one of the many shrimp boats as backdrop. A sunny 70ยบ and I was reveling in it.
Then suddenly I was transported to a foreign country... Egypt? Central or South America? Who knows but this was truly a work of art and not only was I in admiration of the skills and hard work involved but my idyllic beach revelry was greatly enhanced by the journey to other worlds. Thank you pyramid builder.

Hello beach!

It has been too chilly the past two days to make beach walking as pleasurable as it should be. Today our chilly temps and strong winds disappeared, typical Florida weather... always changing — and the beach was inviting once again.
This quick shot was my entry to paradise. I was most intrigued by the different tones to the water from deep blue to tropical green in a striped pattern. Unfortunately the camera didn't pick up this subtle variation like the human eye did, but hopefully you can sense the crisp clear day and beautiful beach that invited me to come and enjoy.

Happy 2012

Calm winds, sunny skies, serene seas... what a wonderful start to 2012.
The beach was blissful and delightfully void of people, the winds were calm, the sky was striking in its blueness and the whole environment gave me such a serene feeling that I didn't even manage to take many pictures.
Hopefully this lovely day portends what the rest of 2012 will be like. That would suit me just fine. Happy New Year to all.
