This time of year the right whales come down the coast from Nova Scotia to calve in the waters off the coast of Florida and Georgia. This year there have been many sightings and several whales have been seen off this part of the coast. In fact three were photographed earlier this week at this very spot. I came prepared with camera but with little hope of actually seeing my first right whale. I did get to enjoy brilliant blue skies, low flying pelicans and a beautiful ocean. No whales. I'm not complaining, just hoping for better luck on another day.
