Be my valentine?

It was cloudy but still a lovely beginning to Valentine's Day. Is love in the air?

Seems as if this large male pelican is enamored with this lovely blonde and beautiful lady pelican. She was being coy... ignoring the boy.

Be mine, Valentine? 

I didn't wait around for her answer.

Lone sentinel

It turned chilly here a couple of days ago but before it did I reveled in some short-sleeved, early-morning warmth at the beach. 

 Taking in the sights and sounds I realized that I was not alone as this gull, acting as a lone sentinel, perused the happenings on the strand.
